Perryville is flying high with the most recent announcement from Sabreliner Corp.
A new contract with the Navy will help ensure maintenance work at its plant in Perryville.
Sabreliner Corp. has facilities in eight states and employs more than 2,000. That includes just over 213 workers in Perryville.
The employment there fluctuates between 45 and 300, depending on the work. The current employment is up from 178 a year ago.
Sabreliner has a solid track record of service. The company has won eight competitive government contracts in the past two years, totaling more than $400 million. The firm has also negotiated government contracts with such countries as Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico and Sweden.
The Perryville plant also includes a engine test cell that can evaluate engine performance on a wide variety of turboshaft, turboprop and turbojet engines.
Business growth for Sabreliner can only strengthen job opportunities in Perryville. The company is part of a diversified mix of business and industry that keeps the region thriving.
