To the editor: The "March of the Penguins" movie has roused lots of questions. "Why?" asks a friend. "What tells those birds to live in such a cold place and travel endlessly and cradle eggs between their feet?" But perhaps the bird has never read Thomas Robert Malthus or "The Purpose-Driven Life" by Rick Warren...

But perhaps the bird has never read Thomas Robert Malthus or "The Purpose-Driven Life" by Rick Warren.

The penguin has no voice, can't fly and marches with a halting gait. Yet it does a better job of being a penguin than I do of being a human. I have come to have quiet admiration for the bird.
