Weather permitting, the 17th annual Parade of Lights will start at 5 p.m. today at Capaha Park and make its way down Broadway to Main Street. There are more than 100 entries in the parade, and downtown businesses are being encouraged to open their doors during the parade.
The weather, of course, is being watched closely. Early forecasts for snow flurries or snow showers could postpone the parade. Last year the parade was delayed a week because of weather.
But if the weather is suitable enough, a bit of winter flurries would only add to the holiday spirit of the parade, which has become a popular tradition on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
For an enjoyable evening for the whole family, find your favorite spot along the parade route and settle in for an evening of sights and sounds.
