I woke up to 4 inches of snow and ice on the driveway Wednesday morning. No way the paper carrier made his run, right? I tried to get to work and couldn't. I came back to the house, slipping and sliding into the driveway and garage. I hunkered down in front of the fireplace with some hot chocolate. By mid-morning I was out on the sidewalk with a snow shovel. Hey, something blue in the driveway where I spun my wheels getting back home. I scraped away some snow and chipped away the ice. I'll be darned. Wrapped up air tight and without a drop of moisture on it was my daily Southeast Missourian not 10 steps from my front door.
