Government regulations stopped my efforts to build a new business. We decided to develop a milk processing business in our local town. After acquiring the site, we contacted agencies who regulate this business. The Department of Natural Resources representatives notified me that the sewage processing rules had changed and that I would have to install a system 100 times more expensive than planned. This one development caused me to use the property for another purpose. The saddest result was the loss of a potential employment opportunity for my small community. Having run small businesses my entire adult life in the 8th District, I get it when employers say that overregulation and uncertainty over government intent causes hesitation for business owners to expand or hire people. Please vote Republican Aug. 7.
