The SEMO District Fair came to a close on Saturday after a week of fun.
Official attendance numbers aren't yet available, but there was a drop in attendance due to both heat and rain at various points in the week. But apart from any weather-related issues, the fair was almost certainly a success.
There are many people responsible for the annual fair and we'd like to thank those who work tirelessly to see that a good time is had by all who attend.
This weekend offers another opportunity for fair fun. The 79th annual East Perry Community Fair will be Friday and Saturday in Altenburg, Missouri.
"It's truly a community event, completely run by over 300 volunteers," East Perry Community Fair publicity co-chairman Fred Eggers recently told the Southeast Missourian. "And, it's a great homecoming for many."
The free event includes carnival rides and games, food, livestock judging, music and entertainment, a fun run and a parade.
