The Southeast Missouri State University Speakers Series continues Wednesday with Michelle Kwan, an Olympian and World Figure Skating champion, set to speak at the Show Me Center.

Kwan's speech is called "Aspiring to Greatness: What It Takes to Win." Many remember Kwan for her success in the Olympics, where she earned two medals. Her figure skating career also includes 43 championships. In 2012 she was honored with an induction into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

It's always interesting to hear from athletes. These individuals often have a star appeal, drawing crowds based on their past athletic performance. But in addition to Kwan's athletic success, she has experience in other areas, like nutrition and fitness, which attendees will likely find interesting.

The presentation starts at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets are available for $10 online at www.showmecenter.biz and at the Show Me Center Box Office. Southeast students, faculty and staff may receive a free ticket with a valid university ID in the University Center Room 202, the Center for Student Involvement or the Show Me Center Box Office.
