To the editor:
This Labor Day weekend, I hope the people of Southeast Missouri will tune in to the Jerry Lewis Telethon, which will raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and its commitment to assisting people with more than 40 neuromuscular diseases, including ALS.
As someone with a neuromuscular disease, I deeply value the help of MDA and its clinic at St. Francis Medical Center in improving my everyday life. MDA also continues to search for cures and treatments with an exciting research program, assist with the cost of key medical equipment and offer a variety of support groups. Those are just some of the programs made possible when people support the MDA telethon.
The telethon broadcast will begin at 7 a.m. Monday on KFVS-12. You call also see in on the Internet at:
Thank you in advance for watching and supporting this important cause. It means so much to people right here in Southeast Missouri.
