The Board of Aldermen first eliminated the police chief's position and decided not to hire a part-time officer who was to have assisted him. In a strange turn of events, the chief then resigned from the position that had been eliminated, only for the board to later decide the town does need a policeman. At its last meeting, the board decided to hire someone else to police the community.

It was obvious that some town officials didn't see eye to eye with the police chief, and neither was he in agreement with some on how he should carry out his job. But Delta needs someone to keep the peace, and residents can rest better knowing the board had a change of heart.
