David Stokes of the Show Me Institute recently took time to promote "privatization" as a solution to Marble Hill's water and sewer problems stating that "The city has been unable to make necessary investments in its water system because elected officials have dramatically underpriced services."
Really? As a resident of Marble Hill I have had to endure the almost doubling of water rates since I moved here in 2004.
How much is enough, Mr. Stokes?
Serconline.org list the following implications of water/sewer privatizations: rate increases, negative economic impact, inadequate customer service and harm to natural resources.
Privatization is not the answer. Nice try, Mr. Carpetbagger.
