To the editor:In a recent report, "Long Overdue," prepared by Public Agenda, researchers heard "loud and clear that people believe their communities must have well-functioning public libraries in order to be healthy and strong." The Cape Girardeau Public Library's board and staff are grateful to all the Cape Girardeau citizens who not only want this for their community, but also believe in the vision of a great destination library for Cape Girardeau. Two years from now, citizens of all ages will have a wonderful community space to educate themselves through books, computers, programs and one-on-one discussions.

We promise to keep the community updated on the building project through media coverage and updates to the library's blog. Bookmark our Web site, www.capelibrary.org, and watch the transformation of your library.
