To the editor: Regarding the story about the lack of applications for concealed weapons in Missouri, I find it a bit frightening that in Cape Girardeau it is legal to have an open container of alcohol in the back seat of a car while at the same time there is also no requirement for a permit for a handgun in an automobile as long as it is not taken out of the car. ...

Regarding the story about the lack of applications for concealed weapons in Missouri, I find it a bit frightening that in Cape Girardeau it is legal to have an open container of alcohol in the back seat of a car while at the same time there is also no requirement for a permit for a handgun in an automobile as long as it is not taken out of the car. Do you see something wrong with this picture. Are we looking at the laws in this city and state seriously? Do most residents even know about these existing liberal laws?
