To the editor:
Please let me add my voice to those who oppose the expenditure of public funds that would honor Rush Limbaugh. I attended Southeast Missouri State University from 1935-1939. I was one of the Depression kids who would have had a hard time making it were it not for the government-supported college paid for by the state of Missouri.
Why is it thyat when I think of Rush Limbaugh the words of that great statesman from Texas, Sam Rayburn, come to mind? He said, "Any jackass can kick a barn down. It akes a skilled carpenter to build one."
Cape Girardeau has much to be proud of, and Rush Limbaugh hardly fits that category.
