When love is my response to anger,

When kindness is my reward for hate,

When mercy is my antidote for justice,

When the friends who I bring home

Are poor and all alone,

When I deny my selfish pride

To save hurt feelings they can't hide,

When I am true to his word employ,

When all of life is full of joy,

God's precious fruit.
