To the editor:

"Under penalties of perjury, I declare that ..." are the words printed above the signature line on each American tax form. If the Republicans and Democrats in Congress let Bill Clinton get away with perjury, then what "penalties of perjury" should the U.S. taxpayers need to worry about? How could our elected Republicans and Democrats at the national level expect U.S. citizens to worry about being truthful on a tax form if Bill Clinton is not assigned the appropriate penalties for his nationally televised perjury?
