To the editor:
I hear and I read statements about how we Libertarians just don't seem to understand that government must be in control of people, transactions, medicine, purchases, health care, safety, welfare and use of the land. If left to themselves, God only knows what people would do on their own. Some might take unfair advantage of others if the government wasn't in control.
Well, yes, they are right. I don't understand. I wish they would explain. For isn't so-called government made up of people, and aren't we all the same? Why is it not unfair when the government steals from you to give to some other person, corporation or project that they've decided to do?
I'll take my chances. Let me make my decisions. Cut back on spending. Please. For I don't believe we can continue to afford all the projects the government tries to appease. If someone takes advantage of me, at least then it will have been my choice. I'm tired of being taken advantage of by government pet programs in which I have no voice.
