To the editor:

In 1987, Vision 2000 was created for the purpose of developing a strategic plan to lead Cape Girardeau into the year 2000. The plan was born of dreams and hopes of all members of our community. The first goal recognized the need to raise citizen awareness and participation in the community with special emphasis on increased voter registration and voter participation.

In keeping with Vision 2000's commitment to the implementation of our city plan, we will host an informational meeting regarding the historic seminary redevelopment project. This informal gathering will be held on the seminary grounds from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Representatives from both Southeast Missouri State University and the city of Cape Girardeau will be present to offer information and answer questions about this joint effort.
