I recently watched "Prime Time Live" and saw something that broke my heart. I watched 3-year-old and 4-year-old children picking out clothes that made them look sexy and describing the act of sex. I have already told KFVS-TV that from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays they show nothing but trash, and I would ask the community to pressure for more responsible local television programming. While women are sitting at home watching actors writhe around in bed or kill each other, their children are watching the same. I realize parents are ultimately responsible for their children's television viewing habits, but I submit that with the exception of PBS there is no decent programming for children or for intelligent, responsible adults.

Perhaps no one in this community feels as I do: our local television station should reflect the moral values of the community it serves. I constantly hear about high moral values here. I don't believe parents can do much about their children's viewing habits when there is nothing for the children on television except sex and violence. Even the cartoons show heroines in scanty clothes, and the violence is never absent from any of the Saturday morning programs.
