To the Editor:

Ah, the local gambling competition is heating up this cold winter. th downtown merchants have recently stireed themselves up again to plead on behalf of the Boyd Group. Meanwhile, Lady Luck struggles to come from behind with spectacular plans for southside development. Both groups receive front page photographs of their establsihments elsewhere. Both groups hawk themselves to our city council. Both groups buy huge ads, with the Boyds even giving us a deck-by-deck breakdown of how they plan to fleece (er, "entertain" us). Truly, a war is on.

But the Boyds shoudl relax, Even if they don't win the Humanitarians of the Planet Award, which their ads hit they deserve, conventional wisdom gives the nod to their ultimate victory in Cape. It's a foregone conclusion.
