Dear Editor:

I am writing in reference to the Doctors vs. Lawyers basketball game that will be held on February 17, 1994, to benefit the Community Counseling Center.

First of all, I would like to say that I believe that both the doctors and the lawyers would agree that they would prefer to meet "on the court" rather than "in court."

Having said that, I can assure the lawyers that the doctors will have such a tenacious defense that, to paraphrase a local well known university basketball coach, "We will pick them up at the courthouse and press them all over the court."

Furthermore, if I might borrow some legal jargon, I believe that I can predict "with reasonable certainty" that the "verdict," so far as the outcome of the game, will be unequivocally in the doctors' favor. In fact, I suspect that by halftime the "barristers" will be making an "appeal" for some sort of "clemency" from our onslaught.

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. at the old Central High School gym on February 17. Tickets are available at the Community Counseling Center, Schnucks, Boatmen's Bank, and at the door. We hope that a lot of people will come and cheer the doctors on to victory.
