To the Editor:
The "No Organization" has made as their slogan "We Love Cape," but is this really true?
If they really "loved" this community and the citizens in it, would they be voting against a proposal that would bring 800 new jobs to this city?
Would they vote against a proposal that brings $37 million in construction jobs to the carpenters, bricklayers, contractors, building suppliers, and other similar trades?
Would they vote against a proposal that would bring new and increased revenues to hotels, restaurants, gas stations, travel agencies and other merchants in the area?
Would they vote against a proposal that would increase city revenues by as much as $2 million per year?
This is a proposal that costs not one cent in increased taxes to the citizens of Cape Girardeau. If you really love Cape and its people, show it by supporting economic progress and by voting "yes" on riverboat gambling.
