To the Editor:
The story in the Saturday, Oct. 30, edition of the Southeast Missourian discussing the new mural at Shivelbine's, while generally laudable, omitted a significant fact.
The mural was designed, based on an old photograph, by Ms. Louise Bodenheimer of the Department of Art at the university. Design projects of this sort require a great deal of work, and, as the quality of the mural displays, Ms. Bodenheimer invested a great deal of herself in that project.
It strikes me as unfortunate that the hard work of a faculty member at the university, work that enhances the overall quality of life for the citizens of Cape Girardeau, goes unrecognized. Ms. Bodenheimer is to be commended for her work and for her contribution to the quality of life in our city. It is regrettable that she did not get such in the article.
