To the editor:

The Bible tells us man should at all times be head of the household. In years past the role of a woman was that of keeping the home fires burning. It was the husband's responsibility to earn the living, as the expression goes.

Today however, times have changed. Women are fast assuming a title of achievement. I remember clearly how President Harry Truman always relied on the advice of his wife, Bess, when an important decision would arise. Eleanor Roosevelt was always by the president's side in aiding the fine decisions he made. Mary Kasten serves an excellent figure in solving many demands of the people.

Kala Stroup's fine appointment now leads us to the belief -- never under estimate the power of a woman.

Will we have a female president of the United States some day? That remains the $64,000 question.
