LETTERS: THANKS FOR MAKING GALA A SUCCESS

To the editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the countless number of people who helped make the 1999 American Cancer Society Gala a huge success. This year the gala raised over $50,000. The gala is the largest fund-raising event for the American Cancer Society in our area. The money we raised will go toward research in the quest for a cure, educating the public and helping families of those affected with cancer.

Special thanks go to our sponsors, auction donors, champagne and diamond sponsors, raffle-ticket buyers and to those who attended the gala. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and everyone one of the gala committee chairs and volunteers. Without their hard work, this event would not have been possible.

Year after year, our community pulls together to show its generosity and support. The effort is truly amazing. We are extremely grateful and proud to be part of this event.
