In view of the negative press teen-age parties have received recently, we are happy to report another side of the story.

It was with extreme pleasure that we hosted the party for the cast and crew of Jackson High School's production of "Donovan's Daughters." Twenty-seven cast members, a dozen members of the crew and various friends and significant others of the above spent many hours at our home after the final production of the play.

They enjoyed the pleasures of petting baby horses, eating, drinking Coke products, reminiscing about the play and practices and singing as their friends played guitar. No profanity, no alcohol, no disrespect. Just a group of 50-plus teen-agers having an old-fashioned good time while being careful to throw away their trash, clean up after themselves and saying thank you profusely and repeatedly.

They were genuinely grateful for the chance to be together one last time with the people who had come to mean so much to them over the last three months of preparation.

Many kind words were exchanged, especially about Ms. Fisher, the cast sponsor, who took 40 kids and turned them into a production company.

We want to say thank you and congratulations to cast, crew and Ms. Fisher for a fantastic production in the play and for an excellent performance at the cast party.

Jackson is full of teen-agers who look for more out of life than getting drunk and causing trouble. The future is in good hands.
