To the editor:
Special reminders in our life that never cease to impress us and that hold a dear spot in our hearts -- whether personal, an event or an occasion -- never leave us nor blot our memory.
The June 28 American Pride section in the Southeast Missourian fully and beautifully pointed that out to us.
Starting with the Declaration of Independence, we are reminded to cherish and be thankful for our freedom.
America's anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner," reminds us so beautifully and thoroughly of the land of the free and home of the brave. Helping to make this all possible are pictures of our fine and courageous young men and women who served our country so gallantly and of whom we are so proud.
The full page of our American flag gives us the full appreciation of our beloved country.
We must not forget Paul Revere's ride and the Gettysburg Address by President Abraham Lincoln that sums it all up so truthfully and inspiringly.
A big appreciation is due to the many establishments that so freely and willingly helped in supporting this reminder to us as we once again celebrate the Fourth of July.
