LETTERS: SUPPORT FOR ARTS CENTER

To the editor:

Bravo to the efforts for building a performing arts center at Southeast Missouri State University. All fine universities have one, considered by many as necessary as a science lab or a business building.

What we have now, the auditorium of lovely Academic Hall, just won't do. To attend a performance, one must leave home at least an hour early to hope for a parking place, one must climb a hill plus many steps, and, when finally seated, the view is primarily the head of the person seated in front of you.

Our fine university and community deserve better. I am an enthusiastic supporter of this effort.
