To the editor: It's a good thing to recycle. Most of the callers to Speak Out are in favor of the people who are conscientious enought to make a new business out of someone else's trash. I would like to applaud them all and include a pat on the back for basing my whole business on recycled materials. Many people would be surprised at how many items they buy that are made out of someone else's trash. Every buy an antique?...

My point is to express the improtance of recycling. Our dumps are filling, more taxes are required to dispose of these things, and someday your house might be built on one of these landfills. Yuk. If that sounds bad, consider the things that go into landfills: medical supplies, dead animals, rats and many toxins. Would you like to raise your children on one of these sites?
