I would like to congratulate the Cape Girardeau Public Works Department employees for a job well done. The employees who make this department operate so smoothly are a great asset to this community.

The public works department provides us with service every day of the year. But it also plays a major part in the city's response to emergencies such as flooding, storms, high winds and hazardous materials calls. The department responds promptly with the fire department and police department and sometimes stays long after the other departments' jobs have been done.

The public works department employees are a dedicated crew, and the citizens of Cape Girardeau should join me in saying thank you.
