Here's one of the main reasons the powers that be won't take no for an answer. Cape Girardeau and Jackson have maps showing their future plans to encroach into the county with new roads around the cities. With no planning and zoning, they have no control over any land outside the city limits. If planning and zoning should pass, they could make you install and pay for the section of the proposed road that crosses your property outside the city limits.

Instead of the truth, we get this drivel pitting people against people. They are after control and money, and we are not going to give them either one.

Thanks you, Steve Robertson, for your truthful letter on the trailer-trash article. It's the wise people of Cape Girardeau County who will not be fooled by articles demeaning us and the wise people of Cape Girar-deau and Jackson who understand how we feel. They will not be fooled either.
