The 3 million members of the American Legion want the American people to join the organization in its commemoration of Children and Youth Month during April.

The American Legion has been serving youth since its inception in 1919 when it began supporting Scouting. Through the years, service to young people -- from its child-protection initiative to its Boys State and Boys Nation programs -- has been engineered under the American Legion's commitment to God and country.

The American Legion proudly continues its youth sporting traditions, including American Legion baseball and Junior Three-Position Air Rifle Tournament.
