Most of you did not know Kyle Cope. You would have liked him. He was bright, energetic and fun. After graduating from Charleston High School, he attended Truman State University in Kirksville. Gov. Mel Carnahan appointed him as the student representative to the university's board of governors as a freshman. Last year he served as state Sen. Joe Maxwell's intern in the Capitol. He was recently hired as director of governmental affairs and assistant to the president of Linn State Technical College.

Disaster struck last week when a car wreck ended his promising future. Kyle was in a hurry to do great things. He did. His life stands as a testament to excellence and hope for our younger generation.
