To the editor:
I am writing in regard to the smell of the hog farm. If the people who own the hog farms had to live within a quarter-mile of them, they would not have one.
One does not have any idea what this smell is like if you have not been there. This is no ordinary smell. It is one which, if it gets into your clothes or skin, is very difficult to get rid of. I have owned one of these several years ago, and I have some knowledge about this. I have a son who moved from his farm in Illinois because a hog farm was built about a quarter-mile away.
I think the only solution to this is that the people who own them must live there near the hog farm.
