To the editor:

A young pro-Gore man being interviewed on Fox News Nov. 18 made the following statement in response to the comment about lawyers invading south Florida: "We ought to be glad it's lawyers. It could have been guns like in the foreign countries."

This statement sickens me, because it names our present election situation for what it is: a coup d'etat. The decision of the Florida secretary of state based on votes cast plus absentee ballots should stand for the safety and welfare of this great country.

Republicans and Democrats alike should be outraged that Al Gore refuses to accept his defeat and take the moral high road in this election.
