Thank you for the kind words about Girl Scouting and our cookie sale in Gary Rust's Feb. 12 column.

Otahki Girl Scout Council serves over 2,600 girls living in eight counties of Missouri and three counties in Illinois.

We are a small Girl Scout council with a very large mission: to encourage girls to be the best that they can be. And the support and commitment of the community for our program is vital to our continued growth.

This year Girl Scouting will celebrate 85 years in the United States. Here in Otahki Council, we well also celebrate our 80th year serving girls.

Girl Scouting has managed to stay contemporary by meeting the changing needs of girls. From camping to career exploration and computer activities, girls will find plenty to keep them interested and involved.

We are very proud of our heritage and excited about the possibilities the future holds.

Again, thank you for the continue support and excellent coverage our Girl Scout program receives from your newspaper.
