To the editor: I urge everyone to vote against Proposition B. I don't like the though that anyone I meet could have a concealed gun. Don't we conceal enough from each other now? Honesty is not a part of our lifestyle. We can't see into each other's minds, nor can we see into the future. It is concealed from us who might jump to a conclusion that his life is in danger. It is concealed from us who might, in the future, become a criminal or be touched by insanity...

I urge everyone to vote against Proposition B. I don't like the though that anyone I meet could have a concealed gun. Don't we conceal enough from each other now? Honesty is not a part of our lifestyle. We can't see into each other's minds, nor can we see into the future. It is concealed from us who might jump to a conclusion that his life is in danger. It is concealed from us who might, in the future, become a criminal or be touched by insanity.

The laws that would govern who could become licensed to carry a concealed weapon would not stop the paranoid, the psychotic or the future criminal from getting a permit. Criminals have always found ways to get around the laws. A criminal isn't going to let this law keep him from getting a permit.

Isn't it rather ironic that we push for weapon detectors at our public buildings and airports, then vote for the right to carry concealed weapons? Do we want everyone to carry guns or no one to carry guns? Can't we make up our minds?

The only way I would vote yes for a proposition to carry a concealed gun would be if it had a stipulation that the concealed gun must be at least 6 feet long.
