To the editor:
Only on rare occasions does the politician I vote for ever get elected. The reason for this is I take the time to find out who I am voting for. Having his or her name plastered on every telephone pole from here to Kansas City does not mean I will vote for him or her. Actually the opposite happens quite often. I don't like to vote for someone taking in large donations from corporate America. Corporate America does not have my best interests in mind. Neither does that politician.
This is one of the reasons I joined the Reform Party. Its political ethics do not allow it to take contributions from the big corporations. Its funds come from everyday people like you and me. This should tell you that there is much to be said about the smaller third parties. They are truly driven by the people for the people. If you don't think a third party can win, look at the faces on Mount Rushmore. They were all candidates of third parties that truly made a difference.
Because all politicians are not created equal, I never vote a straight ticket. This practice of voting a straight ticket leaves me wondering if those people know who they are voting for or even care. Ask yourself: do you believe in all aspects of that party.
