LETTERS: CONGRATULATIONS, CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM

To the editor:

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the Cape Central cross-country team and its coaches for a fine season. On their cross-country shirts for the 1997 season, the team selected the words, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith," which is found in II Timothy 4:7 of the Bible. During practice and races, these team members showed others the true meaning of these words. Their hard work and loyalty to the team make them the best of the best.

I want to especially congratulate and extend best wishes to seniors Tobie Bittle, Kristen Tallent, Bethany Caplan and Rory Kipper, who were very positive role models for the others on the team. Thanks to Coach Hahn, Coach Powell, Rob Tygett and the Cape Central Booster Club for going the extra mile for a team that has gone the extra mile.
