The Nov. 23 column by Paul Greenberg, "Guide to the perplexed," is worthy of being repeated. And it should be accepted as "truth" without deviation. If we make a mockery of our oath upon the Bible, what have we? The means does not justify the end.

Why have judges, juries and verdicts? If "truth" has no presence in the court, then the biggest liar wins. I am heartsick over the beginning of our country's going the route of other governments that fail to uphold the law whereby I place my hand on the Bible and swear "to tell the truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God."
