To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who made our eighth annual Shop With a Hero program a success. We were able to purchase presents for 92 children.

Fifty-eight law-enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical services personnel from the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 33 service area participated. Thank you to the employees of the following agencies:

Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department, Cape Girardeau Police Department, Chaffee Police Department, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Department of Liquor Control, Missouri State Park Rangers, Scott County Sheriff's Department, Southeast Missouri State University Police, Cape Girardeau Fire Department, Jackson Fire Department, Scott County Fire Department, New Hamburg-Benton-Commerce Fire Department, Cape County Private Ambulance Service, North Scott County Ambulance Service, Air Evac Lifeteam and Cape Girardeau County Juvenile Office.
