The Cape Girardeau River Heritage Cooperative (Cape River Heritage Museum, Fort D Historic Site, Glenn House, Old St. Vincent's Church and the Red House Interpretive Center) would like to congratulate David Peacock of Bloomfield, Mo., for completing his Cape Girardeau River Heritage Passport July 3 and 4 and winning a $25 gift card. His name was drawn from the hundreds of visitors who participated in the second free weekend sponsored by the cooperative. We encourage readers to take advantage of the third and last free weekend of 2010, which will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 2 and 3. Visit one of the sites listed above, pick up your Cape Girardeau River Heritage Passport, get it validated at three of the five sites, leave the passport at one of the sites and become eligible for the prize drawing Oct. 15. All of the cooperative members appreciate the support of Cape Girardeau and surrounding communities and look forward to sharing the heritage of our historic river city.
