Many voters ask us about the tea party movement. I spoke at the first tea party held in Cape Girardeau April 15, 2009. My topic was term limits for congressional members to prevent American aristocracy.

At subsequent conservative events, I outlined the personal sacrifices the signers of the Declaration of Independence made during the Revolutionary War. At another rally, I presented solutions on important American topics like illegal immigration, a bankrupted Social Security system, energy independence and avoiding hyperinflation.

Other times I discussed our independent campaign because of my disappointment with both parties. We are self-financing the campaign so my legislative decisions are not influenced by donations from lobbyists or out-of-state donors.

On Aug. 28, 2010, the same day Glenn Beck held his rally in Washington, D.C., I spoke at a local event of my personal experience with the loss of comrades during my 22 years in the Air Force.
