Judge Stanley A. Grimm, who so honorably served 14 years as a circuit judge in Cape Girardeau and Bollinger counties before being appointed in 1987 to the Eastern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals, has tendered his resignation effective at the end of July. He said he isn't retiring but wants to become involved in arbitration and mediation.
Throughout his 25 years on the bench both here and as an appellate judge in St. Louis, Grimm has been a model jurist who has approached every case with the impartiality necessary to render just decisions. He has always been beyond reproach on the bench and in his personal life displayed exemplary moral character. Few if any lawyers who have gone before him can find fault in his handling of any cases because of his fair and honest approach to jurisprudence.
There is no doubt that in his new role as arbitrator and mediator Grimm will perform outstandingly. He has the abilities to get to the heart of a matter and to reason, and those are key elements of his next pursuit.
Stanley Grimm helped set the pace for the fine judges that have succeeded him in the 32nd Judicial Circuit and left his mark on the Court of Appeals. He has done an excellent job of serving the people of Missouri for a quarter of a century.
