This letter will sound like I am bragging, but I am not. I know I am nothing.
A man told me he did not like his aunt because all she talks about is Jesus. I sympathize with the aunt. The aunt knows what is truly important in life, and she knows the first commandment requires more than lip service. I feel it is a gift from God to have the desire to follow the first commandment 24/7.
How beautiful life is for the aunt. What a blessing it is to love the Lord more than all the "things" of the earth. Things are OK, yes, but they can give you nothing compared to the peace, happiness and love you will find if you understand and follow the first commandment. Mother Angelica said, "If you know Jesus -- you love more -- and you want to know more about him."
I was praying and complaining about a money problem recently, and I can say I got a heavenly answer -- undeniable. Why? The answer was not what I wanted to hear! It was what I needed to hear. Answer: "You have Jesus in a very special way, isn't that enough?" Wow! I told this message to a friend, and it hit me that when I die, Jesus is probably all I will have. And come to think of it, that is all I will need. Without him I know I will not go to Heaven. Yes! That is definitely enough.
