You can thank Jerome Zimmer, who started a company that today owns 32 radio stations in three states, including five in Cape Girardeau. Zimmer died recently at the age of 81.

Zimmer was a well-respected radio pioneer who started Zimmer Broadcasting.

He started his first radio station in Dexter in 1956, and the business grew from there.

Zimmer continued to expand his radio interests in Zimmer Broadcasting with the help of his six sons, who now run the business. He was described by friends and family as a good business man who never forgot that it was all about family and faith.

His was a life lived fully.
