Jefferson Elementary wishes to thank the House of Hope and the men from Teen Challenge for the use of their carnival games. We had silly string, colored hair spray, tattoos and KGMO'S famous Roving Radio. KGMO gave away tickets to Holiday World, T-shirts, CDs, books, barbecue sauce, Frisbees and concert tickets. We had plenty of food and beverages.

Many parents thanked us for allowing them to bring their children to this type of event with so many things to do that were free. This is our way of thanking them for supporting Jefferson Elementary. We are a community, and we take care of each other. We want parents to feel comfortable in being able to come to their school for help or to talk.

In all, it was a fabulous evening filled with fun and laughter. We were very touched when one of our families thanked us for allowing them to eat as much as they wanted and allowing their children to have fun for a little while. It was gratifying to know that we had touched their lives in such a positive way. We hugged them and cried.

We love all of our families, and we think our students are treasures. I thank God every day for giving me the opportunity to work with such wonderful families and such gifted and talented staff and students. We're looking forward to the next school year. Have a happy and safe summer!
