To the editor: Whatever happened to Jackson being a safe place to live? You can't even leave a locked vehicle unattended here anymore. On my street alone, more than the five vehicles were broken into in the early morning hours of March 4. The thieves got away with thousands of dollars in irreplaceable sentimental items as well as very expensive stereo equipment...

On my street alone, more than the five vehicles were broken into in the early morning hours of March 4. This town is truly going to hell in a handbasket. If anyone has any information that would lead to the return of any of this stolen merchandise or the arrest of the persons involved, please contact the Jackson Police Department. I'd like to see Jackson become the great place that it used to be when I was a kid, but we have to rid it of trash like this.
