For a true sense of community, find an excuse to join the fun at the annual Homecomers celebration in Jackson. The special events started Tuesday and will conclude Saturday night. Most of the events are around the courthouse square, and there is something for everyone.
Homecomers is like a big family reunion, and for folks who claim Jackson as their home, the annual celebration is a good time to renew acquaintances and enjoy a good time with family and friends. But everyone, native Jacksonian or not, can enjoy the games, entertainment, talent show and Miss Homecomers contest.
Except for war years, Homecomers has been a Jackson fixture since 1908. It's a grand tradition, and you won't find a town festival anywhere that celebrates Midwestern values better.
Go see for yourself.
