To the editor: In our Congress we have a 98 percent retention rate of incumbents. The Soviet Politburo had a 92 percent retention rate. Look what happened to them. The people no longer have control or a true voice in our government. We are fast becoming a fascist government, defined as a government owned and controlled by corporations and the military-industrial complex...

In our Congress we have a 98 percent retention rate of incumbents. The Soviet Politburo had a 92 percent retention rate. Look what happened to them.

The people no longer have control or a true voice in our government. We are fast becoming a fascist government, defined as a government owned and controlled by corporations and the military-industrial complex.

Computerized voting machines ensure that most elections are fixed. We should require -- demand -- paper trails as proof of the vote counting.

Paul Wolfowitz said Iraq would finance its own reconstruction, but $460 billion later can you imagine the education health care and energy discoveries that money could have financed?

Fear and the preaching of fear feed the government. Before Iraq we had problems with terrorists, but we had the means to defeat or control them. Now we have a holy war over whose culture and beliefs are best.

Where is Congress? Spending time on flags, gay marriage and other pandering items, even when North Korea is getting closer to nuking us. The Middle East is going up in flames.

Why can't the minimum wage be increased? We have laws that would stop employers from hiring illegal aliens. Why aren't they being used? We have thousands of people losing jobs as factories move out of America. Why is this not important to Congress?

Everyday people created this great country. They can save it too by voting. Vote out most of the 98 percent and see if anything different happens.
