In his Saturday morning radio address, President Bush called senators who threatened to filibuster the Patriot Act renewal in its present form "irresponsible." Once again President Bush used 9-11 to defend taking legislative and judicial powers. He admitted deliberately breaking the law by ordering the super-secret National Security Agency to spy on Americans with illegal wiretaps. The president claimed this was necessary to protect the American people from further terrorist attacks even though it could have been done legally with judicial approval.

President Bush has repeatedly ignored the Constitution. Spying on U.S. citizens , torturing or abusing prisoners and intimidating or bribing members of the press or members of Congress are all illegal. The senators and media who failed to report the illegal NSA wiretaps broke the law by conspiring with the administration to conceal the illegal activity. Every dictator in history has said it is illegal to reveal illegal government activity.
